Dear Maharaj,

It is the practice in India from good old days among the ordhodox Hindus who

worship Mahavishnu, they are not to cross the ocean, as it is considered an

offence to cross Vishnu, who is taking rest in the ocean on the bed of

Adhisesha with his consort Lakshmi on the leg side and Brahma rising from

his Naval. This message I am hearing from many old people. It is upto us

as Hare Krishna Devotees to believe this or not. For example, in the birth

place of Ramachandra at Ayodhya, thousands of people say that this is the

site where Rama was born. Where is the proof? When many people say one

thing, there may be some truth in it. As per Madurya Kadamabini, it is

mentioned there are several pramanas out of which this is also one such

pramana. I just quoted in support of my statement, but this need not be

taken for granted as it is not supported or mentioned by Srila Prabhupada.

Your servant,

Pancharatna Das

Dear Maharaj/Prabhu,

PAMHO AGSTP

I received a email on the subject "Vastu", but this subject has been

sidelined to crossing ocean by Vaishnavites. I didn't exactly mention that

Vaishnavites should not cross the ocean, but this is only incidental to

support the topic on "Vastu". Well, I would like to close the subject at

this stage and I fully agree with you that such controversial subjects need

not be taken seriously for any discussion by us. So the matter is treated

as closed please. Thank you for your good response.

Your servant,

Pancharatna Das
