Guest guest
> Why in standard pictures of the Pancatattva does Gadadhar (a brahmacari) > have long hair and Srivas (a grhastha) have a shaved head? Just like here we see the five pictures, associates of Lord Caitanya. They were all householders. Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.5.3 -- Boston, May 4, 1968 Caitanya Mahaprabhu's associates, Nityananda Prabhu, Advaita Prabhu, Gadadhara, and Srivasa, and Caitanya Mahaprabhu Himself, they were all householders. Initiation of Hrsikesa and Marriage of Satsvarupa and Jadurani -- New York, September 5, 1968 Advaita Prabhu, He was a householder. Nityananda, He was householder. Gadadhara, He was also householder. And Srivasa, he was also householder. And Caitanya Mahaprabhu also married twice. Purport to Gaurangera Duti Pada -- Los Angeles, January 6, 1969 All four of the principal associates; namely Advaita Prabhu, Nityananda Prabhu, Srivasa Prabhu, Gadadhara Prabhu, and even Lord Caitanya Himself--They were all householders. Letter to: Bhagavan -- London 9 November, 1969 All of Caitanya Mahaprabhu's associates were grhasthas and all of them helped Caitanya Mahaprabhu in His missionary activities. Later on He took sannyasa and specifically He was assisted by Svarupa Damodara, but still He had intimate relations with grhasthas like Advaita Acarya, Nityananda, Gadadhara, and Srivas Thakura. Letter to: Karandhara -- New Delhi 31 August, 1976 Advaita Prabhu, He was a householder. Nityananda, He was householder. Gadadhara, He was also householder. And Srivasa, he was also householder. And Caitanya Mahaprabhu also married twice. CD 13 - Gauranga Bhajan - Track 2 Purport to Savarana Sri Gaura Mahima Yes, Srivas Pandit has sikha. Letter to: Govinda -- Delhi 20 November, 1971 Regarding the painting of the arati ceremony, yes do it as it is described in the song. The ceremony was held inside. No arati takes place in the open. Lord Caitanya was a householder at the time. Navadvipa lila means householder lila. The form exhibited was the Panca-tattva form, as it is described: dakhine nitaicand bame gadadhara. Not only are Brahma and Lord Siva but all demigods are offering. And, everyone has got sikhas, why you are asking if only Narahari and others have got? Srivasa was grhastha, and Advaita acharya was grhastha. Letter to: Ameyatma -- Bombay 8 December, 1974 The Panca-tattva should not have long hair. It should only come to Their shoulders as you have shown in the drawing. Please correct this.
