Guest guest
Some nice quotes about establishment of vad ys Gerald Surya (1) Lord Krishna Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion--at that time I descend Myself. For one who explains this supreme secret to the devotees, pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end he will come back to Me. (2) Sri Ramanuja Acharya explains the above in referece to sva-dharma (4.8,9p): "There is no restriction as to the time of My birth; whenever the Dharma taught by the Vedas---*that *must *be *observed *according *to *the *arrangement *of *the *four *varnas *and *the *four *ashramas *of *life---declines, and Adharma, its opposite, increases, then I Myself, by My own will and in the manner stated, incarnate Myself... The good (saadhava) are those who follow the Dharma, *as *defined *above." (3) So does Sri Sridhara Swami (4.9p): "The righteous (saadhuunaam) [are] those who perform their duties (sva-dharma-vartinaaM)." (4) The demigods say the same thing in their prayers to Lord Krishna in the womb of Devaki in SB 10.2.34: "O Lord, during the time of maintenance You manifest several incarnations, all with transcendental; bodies, beyond the material modes of nature. When You appear in this way, You bestow all good fortune upon the living entities by teaching them to perform Vedic activities...Thus You are worshipped by the Vedic principles." purport: According to Vedic principles, there must be divisions of human society (caturvarnam mayasrstam). There should be brahmanas, ksatriyas, vaisyas, and sudras, and everyone should learn to worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is real human society, and without this system we are left with animal society. (5) this may be seen broadly as also refering to vad For one who explains this supreme secret to the devotees, pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end he will come back to Me. There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear. (Gita 18.68-69) (6) The same point is stated in Kurma Purana after a long discussion about men's sva-dharmas and ending in women's duties (which is illustrated by the Maya-Sita story which is mentioned by Lord Chaitanya in CC): In this world, there is no one superior to him who establishes the supreme dharma and the knowledge of the Paramesvara. He is regarded as a great yogi. A person who is capable of establishing (dharma and knowledge) but who does not do so, is not dear to God, in spite of his being a sage devoted to yoga. Therefore (instruction about dharma and knowledge) should always be given particularly to passionless brahmanas who are endowed with dharma and gifted with knowledge.
