Guest guest
Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada often conveyed to his leaders an educational vision for Sri Mayapur Dhama that is summarized in a 1971 letter: "...throughout the whole world there is no institution to impart education in the matter of spiritual understanding. So we are going to open a big center in Mayapur where this education will be internationally imparted. Students from all parts of the world will go there to take education in this important subject." Beginning in April of 1999 devotees from the Mayapur management, the Ministry of Educational Development, the Vrindavan Institute for Higher Education, Vaisnava Training and Education, and the Book Distribution Ministry have worked cooperatively to establish the Mayapur Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) as an enthusiastic effort to fulfill this vision for Mayapur. Last year over 300 students participated in 30 courses in which they intensely studied Srila Prabhupada's books, and increased their living and preaching skills to become more effective devotees. Our students gave us very encouraging feedback, as practically all of them described how enlivened and inspired they became by their over all experience of participating in the MIHE. We think you will have similar experiences at the MIHE where you can associate with advanced devotees and listen to them humbly speak their realizations; eat great prasadam; bath in the Ganga; dive deep into Srila Prabhupada's books; dance and chant in ecstasy before Sri Sri Radha Madhava; participate in enlivening interactive discussions about issues that really matter to ISKCON devotees and thereby help to shape our society's vision; and go to potent places of pilgrimage. We would therefore like to invite you to participate in this year's MIHE Semester that begins on January 28th and continues through March 6th. You are welcome to start courses at the beginning of any of our five weeks provided that any specific course you have selected has not already begun. Please go to our website at http://www.mayapur.org/mihe to see our course offerings, schedule, and application and registration details. We request you to apply on-line at our website at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the classes you wish to attend. The cut off for applications for the first week is January 15th. Thank you for your attention, and we are eager to host you in Sri Mayapur Dhama for the MIHE Semester and Gaura Purnima Festival. Your servant, Janmastami dasa MIHE Administration
