Guest guest
Dear All, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! We are building up an ISKCON archive in Oxford with records from communication offices and individuals. Our hope is that the records will be accessible to devotees for preaching and research, as well as academics. * We would like to ask you to please KEEP your archives or private collections, don't throw them away! We would like to ask you to please keep whatever materials you might have - like articles; newsletters; correspondence; tapes; books (vyasa-puja books etc), videos; photos; reports; minutes from meetings; court cases; statements and communication with scholars, politicians, religious leaders etc. Your 'rubbish' could be our treasures! They are very valuable, whether they contain 'positive' or 'negative' information or are from/about devotees that are no longer members of ISKCON. These materials are important because they allow us to have accurate information on the history of ISKCON. The history of ISKCON will be written, hopefully by a devotee scholar, so there is a need for archive materials to be kept as a basis for an accurate account of that history and prevent partly accurate histories from being given weight. For now our history is mainly written by anti-cultists and ill-informed scholars. Please let us know about your collection, even if you want to keep them. It would help us know what materials exists. We would also be glad to be in contact with devotees who are interested in archiving, or/and have an education in this field. Please contact me if you have any enquiries on this matter.
