The casting of the permanent Deity of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu for ISKCON Mayapur has begun in South India. Jananivas and Pankajanghri Prabhus are overseeing the process. The seven-foot form of Lord Caitanya, comprised of eight auspicious metals, is the first of the Panca Tattva Deities to be cast. These Deities will be installed in Mayapur on March 3, 2004, to be worshipped in the present Panca Tattva temple until the permanent Temple of the Vedic Planetarium is completed. Many devotees from around the world are contributing to this auspicious event with their prayers and various gifts, including gold jewellry and coins that have been included with the casting metals.
