Guest guest
Your golden opportunity to serve Sri Panchatattva NOW ONLINE at www.panchatattva.com Dear Prabhu, Please accept my humble regards and the blessings of Srila Prabhupada for the well-being of you and your family. I pray that this new year will bring you increasing happiness in Krishna consciousness I would like give you the opportunity to be one of the first devotees to offer your appreciation to Srila Prabhupada on his 108th Anniversary year at Sridham Mayapur in a unique way that even Lord Nityananda and Bhaktivinode Thakur will appreciate. Early in my devotional life Srila Prabhupada made me aware of the importance of his project in Mayapur. I knew he instructed the Governing Body to have their annual meetings there. I knew it was the birthplace of Lord Chaitanya. I knew His Divine Grace had some kind of big plan for this holy tirtha. But my understanding really increased when I was initiated as Ambarisa dasa in 1975. I got the good fortune to travel in India with Srila Prabhupada for two whole months. I was so blissful to be with Krishna’s pure devotee and watch him developing his world-wide mission by watering it’s roots in India. Especially Mayapur. I returned to Detroit very enlivened and I helped with the purchase of the “old Fisher Mansion” for Krishna’s temple. This was the former home of the owner of Cadillac cars. In 1976 Prabhupada came to Detroit to see the new “Bhaktivedanta Cultural Centre”. At that time I received the most important instruction of my spiritual service to my guru maharaja. During a discussion of universal cosmology, Srila Prabhupada talked about building a grand temple of Vedic Planetarium in Mayapur. He asked me what I thought about his idea and I responded that it was a very nice idea. He told me: “ My desire is to attract people from the whole world to visit and take part in Mayapur development.” I was deeply struck by Srila Prabhupada's vision for Mayapura, and his compassionate desire to flood the world with the mercy of Lord Caitanya and the chanting of Krishna's holy names. In later years, as I researched the project more and more I found so many auspicious descriptions confirming the importance of Mayapura for all members of the Krishna consciousness movement. In the Navadvipa Mahatmya Nityananda Prabhu reveals to Jiva Goswami: “When our Lord appears, by His desire the Ganges will swell. The Ganges water will almost cover Mayapur for a hundred years, and then the water will recede. For some time, only the place will remain, devoid of houses. Then again, by the Lord’s desire, this place will become prominent, and people will live in Mayapur as before. All these ghats on the bank of the Ganges will again be manifest, and the devotees will build temples of the Lord ... Because Srila Prabhupada and all our acaryas wanted a beautiful temple and city of Mayapur to be manifest I know that I must focus my energy, my determination to do it. Therefore, this year, in order to serve the desires of Srila Prabhuapada and the previous acaryas, myself and the other members of the Sri Mayapur Project Development Committee are moving ahead with elaborate arrangements to install the most beautiful full size forms of Sri Panca-tattva deities (Lord Chaitanya and His four associates) in Sri Mayapura Dhama. On February 23rd, 2004, just before Gaura Purnima, as a gift for Srila Prabhupada’s 108th birth celebration year, his followers from around the world will install seven-foot tall Panca-tattva Deities in the existing temple at Sri Mayapur. The Panca-tattva (5) deities are being cast from ashta dhatu (eight kinds of metal) and will weigh an incredible 14,000 kilos. In the future, when Nityananda’s prediction is completely manifested the Panca-tattva will preside, along with Sri Sri Radha Madhava, in the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium, the centrepiece of Srila Prabhupada’s grand vision for Mayapur. They will be worshipped there for the next 10,000 years. On behalf of my guru maharaja, Srila Prabhupada and on behalf of the Governing Body Commission, and the Sri Mayapur Project Development Committee I want to invite you to participate. Because Lord Chaitanya appears once in a day of Brahma you might say this is a “once in the day of Brahma” opportunity. We have set a goal of raising $500,000 for the Sri Pancha-tattva Installation Festival. More than half of this is needed just to cover all the costs of casting the deities, transportation to Mayapur, arranging new altars, dresses, jewellery, etc., The balance will provide for a spectacular Gaur Purnima festival with 18 days of sumptuous free prasadam for the more than 10,000 devotees who are expected to come. I urge all of you to join me in this effort by gifting to the best of your capacity. Please visit our website www.panchatattva.com for a full list of the different levels at which you can donate. As their Lordships Sri Panca-tattva will weigh 14000 kilos we are offering sponsorship for the ashta dhatu metal (gold, silver, copper, tin, zinc, mercury, lead and iron). Thus you could sponsor metal for yourself and family members or friends. At each level we have arranged for some wonderful gifts to show a token of our appreciation for your support of the Mayapur Project. These include a unique commemorative medallion at the 1 KG or $41 level and, at the 70 KG or $2001 level, a beautiful set of 12 in. Panchatattva deities cast from the same metals used for the main deities on which these are modelled. So please don’t delay! Go to www.panchatattva.com and then with a generous heart and spiritual vision make your gift online. I beg to remain your humble servant in the service of Srila Prabhupada, Ambarisa das (Alfred Brush Ford) P.S. I almost forgot to mention that I and my wife Svaha dasi are looking forward to meeting you or your representative in Mayapur on February 23rd and presenting you with certificates and other gifts for your birth anniversary gift to Srila Prabhupada. ----------- http://www.mayapurfoundation.org Mayapur Foundation P.O.
