The Certificate and Diploma in Vaishnava Studies

accredited by

The University of Wales, Lampeter

in partnership with

Bhaktivedanta College

Radhadesh

Radhadesh, 15 January, 2004

Dear Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

By now you may have heard of Bhaktivedanta College, a Vaishnava seminary

that was inaugurated in Radhadesh in September 2002. We have been offering a

one-year Ministerial Programme in Vaishnava Studies, which includes

academic, skills, and devotional courses. The purpose of this is to provide

a programme of systematic education and training, with special emphasis on

personal application, to develop the spiritual and cultural legacy of Srila

Prabhupada. This enables devotees to offer more effective service within

ISKCON and at the same time become qualified to use it in the professional

world. The course has been very successful, and the results have exceeded

the expectations of both teachers and students.

Bhaktivedanta College has formed a partnership with University of Wales

Lampeter (UWL), an acknowledged center for Theology and Religious Studies in

the UK. Lampeter is one of the oldest universities in England and Wales,

outside of Oxford and Cambridge. Their Department of Theology and Religious

Studies has therefore been able to build on a long tradition of Christian

theology, while at the same time pioneering new developments in religious

studies. Lampeter accredits a number of Christian theological seminaries in

the UK through their Open Learning Theology and Religious Studies Programme.

Bhaktivedanta College is pleased to be the first Vaishnava seminary in this

programme. At the end of the current academic year, we will offer a

Certificate of Vaishnava Studies, accredited by UWL. Graduates will earn 120

academic credits.

It is expected that our partnership with UWL will lead to the accreditation

of further programmes offered at the College; initially a Diploma in

Vaishnava Studies from September 2005. The credits earned by the Certificate

and Diploma are equivalent respectively to years 1 and 2 of an undergraduate

study.

We are accepting applications for the 2004-05 year until 15 May 2004. Please

contact our Secretary, Alakananda Dasi, at college (AT) pamho (DOT) net for further

details.

Thank you.

Yours in service to Srila Prabhupada,

Yadunandana Dasa

Bhaktivedanta College Principal
