ISKCON CONVENTION SEMINARS, 2004

Radhadesh 29 June - 3 July

Dear Prabhus,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Please find enclosed information for the ISKCON Convention Europe seminars

in Radhadesh. They will be taking place from Tuesday 29th June to Saturday

3rd July. There will be a Ratha-yatra in Paris on Sunday 4th July. A bus

will be organised to take devotees from Radhadesh to Paris.

The ISKCON Convention was started in 1991 in order to provide a forum for

devotees to get together for spiritual association and to discuss topics of

interest to ISKCON in an open and thoughtful way. Originally the Convention

came out of cooperation between ISKCON Communications Europe and the VIHE

(Vaishnava Institute for Higher Education).

The Convention takes place each year in Radhadesh, the Hare Krishna temple

in the Belgian Ardennes. This is a good place for the seminars because of

the nice facilities for delegates as well as the pleasant and peaceful

surroundings.

This year the Convention is looking to again reaffirm its commitment to the

ideal of candid discussion and is organising a series of lectures from

eminent scholars and devotees about burning issues of the day with

discussion afterwards.

Please find enclosed a poster advertising the teachers and the seminars they

are giving. Please put this message on your notice board for us to advertise

the seminars.

We are looking forward to seeing you here at Radhadesh and having your

association.

Your servants,

Shaunaka Rishi Das, Braja Bihari Das and Hrdaya Caitanya Das

experiential seminar

This seminar will be based on the six processes of Saranagati. It includes

of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. It offers practical tools for improving our

performance in devotional service.

* Bhakti Vijnana Swami: Anavrtti sabdat - liberation by sound

What are the different Vedic schools in regards to sound? Learn about the

different levels of sound, the anarthas created by impure chanting and the

good qualities that pure chanting produces in the heart.

In this seminar Parividha prabhu will teach about voice technique,

movements, and improvisations with and without text.

* Urmila Devi Dasi: Appreciating Srila Prabhupada

In this seminar students will explore the history of ISKCON and Srila

Prabhupada as Founder-acarya, Srila Prabhupada as a preacher and his life,

how to promote knowledge of Prabhupada's life to people in general, and

discuss which specific aspects of Srila Prabhupada's example are helpful in

our own lives.

* Ajamila Das: Vastu Sastra

If you are transcendental to the influences of the three modes of material

nature, then you do not need Vastu. However, if the modes still condition

you to some degree and you want to

facilitate spiritual and material development, then Vastu may be favorable

for you.

In this dynamic presentation you'll learn how Vastu influences personal

environments on the four levels: physical, energetic, karmic, and spiritual.

Dr Gupta presents an overview of the principles of Ayurveda in his own

enlivening and devotional style. This seminar is a must for anyone who would

like to include simple principles from this ancient practice of healthcare

in their everyday lives.

* Radhika Raman Das: Jiva Goswami and Vedanta philosophy

Srila Jiva Gosvami was the most prolific of the six Gosvamis of Vrndavana.

Through his six Sandarbhas, he established Caitanya Mahaprabhu's movement on

a firm philosophical foundation. This course will begin with an overview of

Srila Jiva Gosvami's life and accomplishments, focusing on his commentary on

the first four aphorisms of the Vedanta-sutra. We will take a close look at

the philosophical techniques and arguments he uses there, with the purpose

of deepening our own understanding of Krsna consciousness.

* Atmananda Das: Atma Yoga - using Vaisnava hatha-yoga to expand Srila

Prabhupada's movement

The course will include a documentary of the Atma Yoga project. The theory

and practice of the program, how it is proceeding, how to develop yoga
