Revised COM / CIS / PRONTO policies

Dear Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

 

Jayadvaita Swami, Brahma Muhurta Dasa and myself have been re-evaluating the

need of the BBT E-Mail Systems, and its policies. We have considered that

although e-mail access is now widely and freely available, COM remains

important for the devotees. We have therefore decided to continue to provide

COM / CIS / PRONTO accounts to ISKCON devotees without any monthly

subscription fees. Also using the software and getting upgrades remains for

free.

 

However, new users are requested to give a one-time goodwill donation, and

fill in an application form. Therefore, from now on, everyone must apply

himself for membership; nobody can sign up someone else. For more details

concerning signing up, read MEMSHIP.TXT in the attached ZIP file.

 

We have reviewed the Agreements which all users must accept in order to be

allowed to continue to use the BBT E-Mail Systems. You will find them in

AGREE.TXT in the attached ZIP file. Please read them, then print out and

fill in the confirmation form (CONFIRM1.TXT for persons, CONFIRM2.TXT for

organizations), and send it to:

Please do this before January 1, 1999. Accounts that were not reconfirmed

will be discontinued at the beginning of 1999.

 

If you have no printer and thus cannot print out the confirmation form, you

may write on a blank sheet of paper all the information that should normally

be filled in on the form. Write at the bottom: I declare that the above

information is truthful. I also declare to agree to all the clauses in the

"Agreements for Using The BBT E-mail Systems." Don't forget to sign it.

PS. The files that were available a couple of days ago on www.iskcon.net/com

and www.bbt.se were unfinished versions. Only the files that are presently

there are valid. Sorry for the confusion.
