Announcement by the Executive Committee of the GBC

The entire GBC executive committee (Akhandadhi dasa, Badrinarayana dasa,

Ravindra Svarupa dasa, and Sesa dasa) will be traveling to Germany to meet

with Harikesa Swami at Abentheuer during the week of August 2th. It is well

known that Harikesa Swami has been progressing through a difficult and

turbulent period of his life. This fact has lead to an avalanche of rumor

and speculation as to the nature and outcome of his upheaval, and many

people have become puzzled, concerned, and alarmed.

 

The executive committee wants to assure ISKCON that it has been carefully

monitoring this situation as it has developed, and over the past weeks it

has sent a number of senior devotees and GBC men to be with Harikesa Swami.

 

Now the opportune time has come for the entire committee to meet together

with Harikesa Swami. He has requested this visit and is eager to discuss

with them his situation and his future.

 

The committee wishes to reassure all concerned devotees that it is dealing

with this matter with all the care, tact, and due deliberation at its

command. The committee begs everyone to try to refrain from adding to

speculation, rumor and anxiety, and rather to await the outcome of the

committee's personal discussions with Harikesa Swami next week. During that

time, the committee members will also be available to consult as needed with

other leaders and with disciples of Harikesa Swami.
