Guest guest
I was in Hawaii when Srila Prabhupada arrived in the spring of 1972. But I've never seen tapes of his lectures or conversations there at that time. Any clues?

If the Archives doesn't have it I could loan it to then to copy. I also have a tape of a lecture he gave at the farm on the Big Island in 1975 (or '76?). The quality of the sound is terrible, but perhaps the Archives has equipment for enhancing the signal. Someone must have taped those lectures, but the CoC one is the only one I've seen over the years. I think it also includes a lecture at the University of Hawaii. And the Church of the Crosssroads lecture is intersting because it has Goursundara's electric kirtan, wiht Siddhasvarupananda Goswami singing lead, and Srila Prabhupada saying the prema-dhvani at the end. (But whatever happened to other lectures and conversations? I particularly remember one in the evening in the temple room.) > Someone must have taped those lectures, but the CoC one is the only one > I've seen over the years. I only vaguely remember the kirtan at that church (though I clearly remember the melody).

I think the Chirch of the Crossroads tape I have was one I borrowed from you years ago. (I have it in a safe place, and I'll look at it tomorrow.) We should get these circulating. Know which one I really wish I had? When he visited in August 1970. Babhru

(And perhaps > more significantly, how can the Archives get copies --- because they don't > seem to have them.) At the Bhaktivedanta Archives we would very much like to obtain copies of these tapes. The ideal for us is to get the original and then from the original make DAT backup copies. If Kusha Mataji can send us the originals she should make sure to first make copies so that if they are lost or damaged in the mail or UPS etc. we still have something. We can return the originals after making the DAT copies. Our equipment is able to remove some of the recording defects. From the DAT masters we can then create the masters for the tape ministry and the CD ministry if the quality is good enough for general release. But even if they are very poor quality, we will still have them transcribed for inclusion in the VedaBase so that devotees can have access to the information on these tapes. Then if devotees need copies of the audio we can retrieve them from the DAT masters. Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, Dandavats! Jayasrila Prabhupada!!! Digging through my tapes I came up with a 120 minute tape dated May 9, 1972 at Church of the Crossroads and May 10, 1972, University of Hawaii- Kennedy Theater. Are these the tapes you are looking for? Or do you have these? Here are dates of other vintage original "Srila Prabhupada in Hawaii" tapes not purchased from Golden Avatar, I found in my collection- 3-19-1969 Kaawa, Hawaii 3-21-1969 Kaawa, Hawaii 3-24-1969 Kaawa, Hawaii 3-28-1969 Kaawa, Hawaii They are all 120 minute tapes, if you want them I will have to go buy 120 minute blanks to make copies. Yours in the service of our beloved Srila Prabhupada, Kusha devi dasi
