Guest guest
One of the problems in this is the Archives itself. The Archives is too slow and too expensive in marketing things. Mp3 and wave format have been out for along time but the archives is procastinating and in the mean time loosing out. Plus the prices they charge are really out of touch with the reality of the income of the targeted market they have. ys Bhima das

In our yatra, there are only a few people who could afford the Archives prices. The rest, who number hundreds, cannot afford them and so they are unable to buy Srila Prabhupada's lecture tapes and video tapes. I have hardly met anyone anywhere, except myself, who has a collection of originals. If the tapes were sold and actual copying costs (and distribution charges) plus a reasonable margin, then, perhaps, a large number of devotees could afford to buy. The nectar would get distributed much more, and the volume could make up for the reduction in margin. In the case of audio, the Archives may have to bow down to the inevitable and distribute at low cost in MP3 format on CD or over the Internet. Right now, it seems all parties are suffering - the Archives does not make enough money, and scores or hundreds of devotees worldwide are incurring bad karma by buying pirated material.
