Guest guest
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! In Bg. 4.1 the following reference is given "Mah€bh€rata (®€nti-parva 348.51–52)." One devotee suggested this should be ®€nti-parva 349. He said he got this from Ganguli's edition. The 51-52 he could not check. I wrote to Ekanath prabhu (Alviks Gard) for a confirmation and he wrote: ---------------------------- "When quoting from the Mahabharata it is important to name the edition from which the quote has been taken. (...) The best, and most respected source for MBh quotes is the Critical Edition of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI). (...) The verses you are asking for are, with some minor differences, found in the CE, where they appear as Santi-parva 336.47 and 336.48a: % Mahabharata: Santiparvan % Last updated: Fri May 18 2001 % Encoding: ASCII % Electronic text © Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, % Pune, India, 1999 12336047a tretAyugAdau ca punar vivasvAn manave dadau 12336047c manuz ca lokabhUtyarthaM sutAyekSvAkave dadau 12336048a ikSvAkuNA ca kathito vyApya lokAn avasthitaH 12336048c gamiSyati kSayAnte ca punar nArAyaNaM nRpa ---------------------------- Thus I have three references: 1. ®€nti-parva 348.51–52 2. ®€nti-parva 349.51–52 3. ®€nti-parva 336.47–48a Could you kindly tell me which one I should use?
