Guest guest
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ G€Š…va—the famous bow of Arjuna gifted to him *by VaruŠa before* the burning of the Kh€Šava forest. (šdi Parva in Mah€bh€rata) >>> Ref. VedaBase => Glossary ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It seems that this “. . . .by VaruŠi before. . . . ” should be “. . . . by Agni after. . . .”: 1. Arjuna satisfied the fire-god by setting fire to the Kh€Šava Forest, and thus the fire-god gave him one weapon. >>> Ref. VedaBase => SB 1.12.21 2. After KŠa and Arjuna set fire to the Kh€Šava Forest, Arjuna received the G€Š…va bow. >>> Ref. VedaBase => SB 10 Summary 3. Then, to please Agni, the fire-god, KŠa arranged to offer him the Kh€Šava forest. The Lord asked Arjuna to burn down the forest and accompanied him as his charioteer. Agni was so satisfied with the offering that he presented Arjuna with the G€Š…va bow, a team of horses, a chariot, two inexhaustible quivers, and armor. >>> Ref. VedaBase => SB 10.58 Summary etc., etc. Hare Krishna. Your humble servant, Rogier.
