Guest guest
Respected Prabhus: Someone in Vrindaban is saying that Srila Prabhupada received the "Bhaktivedanta" title at the time of taking sannyasa from Kesava Maharaja in 1959. But, we know that SP received it much earlier. For instance, he used this title in the prospectus for the League of Devotees in Jhansi in 1953. Satsvarupa Maharaja's Lilamrita describes Sridhara Maharaja and other sannyasis agreeing to give this title, when they were staying with SP at the Sita Banerjee residence in Calcutta. And, SP himself says he was awarded the title when he was a housholder. The Archives in its introductory remarks says SP was offered it in 1947. Please give us the evidence for this date. Thanks, Brahmananda dasa
