Dear Dulal Chandra Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada. All

Glories to your wonderful service at the BBT Archives.

Thank you for sending me the folio through H.H. Jayadvaita Maharaja. The

Invoice No. is: 19980863 and the Sales 5-27-98. I received the Folio

exactly one month later on the 6-27-98. Also I couldn't get back to you

right away, because I was hospitalized and due to illness laid back for two

weeks, and getting to know the folio took also some time.

I just wanted to let you know, that there is a little problem with the

folio. Right after I installed it and got the password, I had for the first

time a virus on the Computer. I have only got the PC a few month ago and

had, up until receiving the folio, only explored the preinstalled software,

but never used a floppy nor a CD until then. The whole system shut down and

I had to get a computer programmer install the programs again and install a

Virus program. But the folio has certain functions, which don't work also

now.

Also I was a little unhappy that the Folio CD came to me open, without being

packaged and addressed to me. When you buy something,the buyer wants to be

the first person to open the product, isn't it? Otherwise what is the

guarantee of it being new. Actually it went through many hands before it

ended up with me. In Juhu one girl told me: I have forgotten to tell you,

but your CD is at our office.

The Help Menu options are: Contents, Keyboard, Tutorial, Infobase and

About. Only the'About' button works. With all the other buttons nothing

happens when you click them. Also in 'Getting Help' it mentions that you can

acess the User's Guide info base through the 'open' in the file menu or the

'tutorial' in the help menu, but the tutorial doesn't work and in the open

dialog there isn't a file by the name 'User's Guide infobase'. I have gone

through the tutorial and have several questions, but don't want to bother

you with them until I have gone through this User's Guide, which probably

clears up some queries, if I would have access to it.

Also I have looked in the Windows explorer and out of 24 VedaBase programs

only 14 can be accessed. The others show signs like: Unable to open infobase

C:\VEDABASE\..... The file being read has been corrupted.

Another thing is that I was disappointed that there is no sanskrit in the

books. Preaching in India in particular is ineffective without quoting from

the original sanskrit text. The reason for getting a laptop and folio was to

be able to travel and have access to all of Srila Prabhupada's books, but if

I want to look up sanskrit verses and I have to find books for that anyway,

a major purpose of getting the folio is defeated.

H.H.Jayadvaita Maharaja said, that the new update of the folio will be made

available to me as soon as it is finished, which will be any time now. Does

the updated version have the sanskrit?To get the update or if necessary to

get the folio once again installed because of the virus, do I have to once

again get a password? My situation is such, that I am not receiving any cash

money for maintenance from the temple nor hospital, only prasad and a room.

I live on donations only, which come sparingly, since I just recently moved

to Mumbai. The Computer and folio were donated by someone in Europe, along

with a little money for software for the P.C. The last phonecall to get the

password was Rs.1100 which finished the rest of the funds for software, and

which is double the money I use for maintenance per month. Is there any way

you can commute the password to me without me having to use the phone?

Also you are having this folio sales incentive program. The folio I got was

bought because of my preaching effort and therefore I wanted to ask you if I

could get credit for that even retrogress, since I didn't know about it

before. Of course the circumstance is such, that I am also the one who

received the folio and therefore I want the person who paid for it to get

the benefit to receive some BBT books. Is that possible?

Also I read that Ksama Prabhu has been doing seva at the BBT Archives for

the last few years, which I was very happy to hear. Please give her my

obeisances and tell her if she ever comes to India to please also stop by in

Mumbai(Srila Prabhupada's office) and see the 'Devotee Hospital' and stay

with me.--- Also please give my obeisances to Ekanath Prabhu and family. I

also hope that you and your family are well.
