Guest guest
> How does one restore the *.LDF from the backup. where is the backup.?? The backup is not automatically made, you have to do it manually. The easiest way is to copy VEDABASE.LDF from C:\WINDOWS to a floppy disk. For example by opening a MS-DOS window and enter following command: copy C:\WINDOWS\VEDABASE.LDF A: To restore the file, simply copy the file back from the floppy disk to C:\WINDOWS. For example by opening a MS-DOS window and enter following command: copy A:VEDABASE.LDF C:\WINDOWS If it's to inconvenient to have the backup on a floppy disk (because you are travelling and might lose it), then you can copy VEDABASE.LDF from C:\WINDOWS to C:\BACKUP. For example by opening a MS-DOS window and enter following command: md C:\BACKUP copy C:\WINDOWS\VEDABASE.LDF C:\BACKUP (If there is a VEDABASE.LDF in C:\VEDABASE then in above instructions replace "C:\WINDOWS" with "C:\VEDABASE".)
