Guest guest
Recently a file about brahmacarya was widely posted. It stated, in part: "By observance of unbroken Brahmacarya in thought, word and deed for a period of full 12 years, one is bestowed even with the vision of God, if one aspires for it." This is incorrect. Even if one observes unbroken Brahmacarya for 12 trillion lives of Brahma, that in itself will never give a vision of or love of God, who is only attainable by pure devotion. The above statement, and indeed the whole essay (somewhat adapted), was taken from Swami Sivananda's "Practice of Brahmacarya." Swami Sivananda was a saintly person and a perfect brahmacari, yet he was an impersonalist. I request the devotees to be more careful in what they quote and propagate.
