Osho's fallacy 1

Osho's entire concept of celibacy was limited to "repression." He railed on

and on about "repression" of sexual desire, and seemed to have no idea or

experience with that finer creature: sexual sublimation. He did not even

believe in the possibility of human moral purity, and taught his followers

not to believe in it. One of his enlightened sayings: "Whenever you see

anybody reading The Bible just go close and see, whether he is actually

reading The Bible. Ninety percent chances are [there is] a Playboy magazine

[hidden inside]." Another cynical line, betokening Osho's lack of spiritual

experience: "All these monasteries of Hindus and Mohammedans and Buddhists

are full of hypocrites; there is not a single man worthy of any respect. And

these religions have created all kinds of perversions in the world."

Osho/Rajneesh put forth the erroneous notion that indulging in sexual

pleasures you will somehow become "fulfilled" and get over sexual desires.

He wrote: "Let your biology be satisfied to its full...if your biology is

completely satisfied, there is no fight between the conscious and the

unconscious.Express it, it evaporates." Problem is, it doesn't work. And

the Rishis figured that out a long time ago. That is why they have taught

sexual self-control and then celibacy as the doorway to spiritual life.

And Osho's teaching of indulgence doesn't seem to work for his followers,

either. How? In the next message.
