it's clear from this quote that the parameter to check whether we are

factually attracted to Sri Sri Radha-Krishna lila because we are spiritually

advanced or we like to hear it just because it talks about romance, is to

see if we ever get attracted to material feminine beauty. If we do get

attracted by any of such material beauties (of opposite sex and in kaliyuga

also homosex!) then it means we are not attracted to Their pastimes.

A simple search in SP FOlio gave me some quotes which are important to make

sure we don't misunderstand Srila Prabhupada's instructions on this issue.

"Regarding the article suggested by Rayarama, you are correct in your doubts

that Radha-Krishna lila should not be discussed in Back To Godhead. In the

Srimad-Bhagavatam there are so many philosophical discussions and we should

concentrate on these philosophical aspects. Otherwise the less intelligent

will surely understand Radha-Krishna lila as simply nonsense boy and girl

sex life." (let to SDG 68/12/13)

"Strictly we should avoid publishing these confidential topics in Back To

Godhead. This is dangerous for the conditioned soul. Although such Krishna

lila can do some good to the mundane people in the long run, to understand

the philosophical aspects of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam in the

beginning is essential and will make for good stride in spiritual life. I do

not know why Rayarama has asked you to send such article. It is not to my

sanction. We shall be very careful about mundane sex life. That is the pivot

center of conditioned life. You are intelligent enough and I hope that

Krishna will help you in these matters." (let to SDG 68/12/13)

"Jaya Govinda was correct in his observation that Radha-Krishna Pastimes

should not be discussed at the present time. Unless one is highly elevated

in spiritual understanding it is risky to discuss these Pastimes. Caitanya

Mahaprabhu never discussed Radha-Krishna Lila with ordinary persons. We have

so many other things to discuss; what is the soul, what is bhakti. To

understand Radha and Krishna's Pastimes, that is our aim, but we should not

indulge in this at present. Then there is sure to be misunderstanding."

Dear Nayana Ranjana Prabhu,

This is a statement of high understanding and deep realisation. This is simply

perfect.

Krishna Consciousness is not a science of quotations. It is a science of

(self/God) realisation.

Any way to quote shastra, I recommend re-reading of "Bhagavadgita As It Is "

complete 3rd chapter with purports (especially those verses with the word

*lust*).

Based on your comments above I think you are confused with the words

*attractions* and *inclination/propensity*. A devotee is full like an ocean.

The attractions of Maya are always there, but the devotee does not have an

inclination or propensity to those attractions.

Bhadra Balaram Prabhu's statement is all glorious, as it helps any Sadhana

devotee in one's own self analysis, which Srila Prabhupada recommends.

Ofcourse, at Sadhana stage there are devotees at various levels on the path to

perfection, and at this stage I agree with you that to the extant one is

surrendered (surrendered is a better word than attracted) to Krishna to that

extant one is protected from maya. Also there is this *Vipralamba Seva*.

Surrender to Lord Krishna under the direction of a bonafide spiritual master is

the only remedy for lust, and that is the sum and substance of Bg 3rd chapter,

sorry the whole of Bhagavadgita, sorry the combined teachings of Srila

Prabhupada and all the past, present and future Acaryas.

Please pray for me,

Your humble servant,

Bhadra Govinda Das.

P.S: I am going out of station for 3 weeks and I may not regularly access my

mail, so I may not regularly participate in this discussion. Kindly excuse me.
