Guest guest
The essential point behind what is being in the Bhagavatam about the male form being special is that it affords a great opportunity to make spiritual advancement. In a vedic society women have very little independence and most of their time is spent in family responsibilities. Whereas men have the potential to dedicate their full time and energy directly in Krsna Conscious pursuits. We must keep two things in mind however. This is only general principal. With the freedom offered by a male body comes more opportunity to turn away from Krsna. We have many examples of greatly advanced vaisnavis in our movement, and we have many examples of male bodied devotees not following very strictly. THe second thing to consider is that society has changed so much and traditional gender roles are so different that the odds are much more even now than they ever were.
