And apparently that is also corroborated by Srila Prabhupada. This is an excerpt from one of HH Satsvarupa Maharaja's writings: Boston, 1969 When Srila Prabhupada had visited Boston, he noticed that all the young girls were sick. Their illness, he said, was caused by their not having sex. He said it was unnatural and unhealthy for young girls to practice celibacy. Of course, he wasn't referring to illicit sex, but just to the normal life of marriage and childbearing. He didn't make this remark publicly, but it was passed around until everyone heard that he had said it. Therefore, he decided that all the girls should immedietly get married. These girls had given up material life to come to Krsna consciousness. Like a father, he wanted to protect them and give them whatever they needed to be happy in life. In our typically obedient and innocent mood, we rounded up enough husbands for all of them and Prabhupada performed a triple wedding. Jahnava, Rukmini, and Saradiya were married in the Boston fire sacrifice; Arundhati went to Columbus to marry Pradyumna.
