Letter to Krsnavesa dd (1/16/75): "My request to you is that you try to follow the authorities there -- the temple president, the GBC, etc. Cooperate nicely with them. Our movement is based on love and trust, so if we do not cooperate, then how is that love and trust? Follow all of the rules and regulations very strictly without deviation, chant 16 rounds, attend class and mangal arati, and then everything will be all right." I'd like to quote a part of the above quote once again: "My request to you is that you try to follow the authorities there -- the temple president, the GBC, etc. Cooperate nicely with them." And once again, the part of it: "Cooperate nicely with them." So when the GBC says... A suggestion for the further discussion on the subject matter: HH Sivarama Swami published a booklet recently entitled "Siksa Outside ISKCON?" which contains an abundance of relevant quotes regarding associating with and taking siksa from any vaisnava sources outside ISKCON. The final conclusion was --- Srila Prabhupada never allowed it, except to some of his disciples under particular circumstances, and never for good. Unfortunately, I don't have the book anymore but I strongly recommend it to all the ISKCON devotees who are either taking or are thinking about taking siksa outside ISKCON. Srila Prabhupada once said that his books would be the law-books of mankind for the next 10,000 years. HIS, noone else's. So why should I go outside ISKCON to be tought about Prabhupada? Feel free to consider me an institutionalist. Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada (within ISKCON)... Radhe Govinda dasa
