Guest guest
In the bhakti-märga, the path of devotional service, one must strictly follow the regulative principles by first controlling the tongue (sevonmukhe hi jihvädau svayam eva sphuraty adaù). The tongue (jihvä) can be controlled if one chants the Hare Krsna mahä-mantra, does not speak of any subjects other than those concerning Krsna and does not taste anything not offered to Krsna. If one can control the tongue in this way, brahmacarya and other purifying processes will automatically follow. S.B. 6.1.14 ppt. ------------------------- Sometimes devotees question how they can know how much to eat. How much is too much? The answer is simple. As soon as the belly starts to feel heavy, a devotee should wind up his eating, and not go on packing in more and more. Judging by his hunger, he should estimate how much he will eat as he is being served and not take excessive quantities on his plate.
