Guest guest
[Text 181394 from CIS] Incidentially, I have spurred two replies on the topic in the Ayurvedic Healing conference. I thought that they might be interesting. Here they are translated (first letter - full, second - excerpts). ys ad ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brahmacarya according to Carak Samhita is one of three pillars on which the health rests. Ayurveda explains that the period up to 25 years both for men and women is the period of formation of fabrics and dhatu of the body. During this time the fabric of a body achieve their best composition. Thus this period is intended for formation and construction of fabrics, instead of for their expenditures. If in this period the body will not be constructed appropriately man will not be capable to cross all difficulties in life also will be sick constantly. After 25 years man can enter in marriage and engage in sex for producing children. Ayurveds strictly forbids uncontrolled sexual life and also gives the detailed descriptions of harmful influence of sex for the health of both man and woman. In many places of ancient Ayurvedic texts, it is said, that the less there is sex - the better. According to the teachings of Vaydyas - ayurvedic doctors, observance of brahmacarya makes the man capable overcome death and to achieve immortality. Brahmacarya is a necessary component for achievement of the mental peace and longevity. The main thing id how to apply it in our particular conditions. On mine deep belief, without Hatha Yoga training it is hardly possible. Nor medicine can compensate harmful influence of the environment, where all are mad on sex. Antidote should be equal in action and as far as both tablet and medicine are concerned, they can comprise only 10 %. One can carry out an easy test to see your chances in following brahmacarya. There is an asana in hatha yoga, which is referred to as brahmacari asana. If you can execute this one then the forecast is favorable. It is necessary to sit on floor, having extended legs in front, and take grip with hands tips of the toes; straighten one's back and, bending forward, lie down on legs, touching with one's forehead (or chin - even better) one's knees. Then one should remain in this asana as long as one can (without bending the knees certainly). If you will have enough courage to carry on with this asana 3-5 times a day (morning and evening), the problem is solved. Yours servant Subala das ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hare Krishna! All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Unfortunately, I couldn't find a conference, where the theme of preservation semen was discussed, therefore I have decided to write here (in Ayurvedic healing - ad). I think my information will be useful for the devotees. I have desperately tried to put an end to the nocturnal emission since I joined KC. Then, seeing my determination to become ideal brahmacari, Krishna has arranged for me to read the book "Yoga of Dao". After that it has become clear to me, that one cannot preserve the semen without special physical exercises. After all, sages of the past used to say that: 1. There is nothing more difficult in this world, than retaining semen as long as one wishes. 2. The complexity is in the fact, that the body is generating semen constantly... 3. It is only an advanced yogi that can live without sleep. 4. If sadhaka is able to retain semen even for three months, then his gray hair will become black again, wrinkles will be gone, and even new teeth will be growing and other miracles may happen. But not a single drop can be lost. Last year I have spent a few months in the Himalayas, in the ashram of Sivananda Swami in Hrishikesh. I have read many books on yoga there, communicated with some yogis. Even very advanced yogis encounter with this problem. Moreover, there is even a special Urdhvareta-yoga, consisting of certain asanas, kriyas and mudras. These are quite difficult things to do, but effective enough. All these methods help to retain the juice, but the longer you do it; the more difficult it becomes, up to the point of mental deviations; therefore even most determined sadhakas are not recommended to perform it in Kali-yuga. Yogis recognize this involuntary loss of semen, as normal function, and it is not considered a falldown, but!!!!!!!!!! the less often it happens, the better. Finally, I would like to ask one question, where is it possible to get hold of the new edition of Brahmacarya in Krishna Consciousness in an electronic form?
