Someone can judge so, thinking Bernard was biased by Victorian moral.

However, age in itself is controversial subject for both natural sciences

and humanities. On the one hand, there are humanities and some

interdisciplinary sciences, where concept of age can be discarded. Like no

one frowns at the Plato philosophy as outdated. On the contrary, a lot of

"outdated" material is very much revered. One can argument, that Bernards

study is rather in the domain of chemistry and biology, yet I don't think

that the in 40 years major concets have shifted there and loss of natural

protein and vitamin in the form of semen is considered a great benefit for

health.

As for the natural sciences, their claim to be progressive "eye-openers" for

the humanity has been debunked also from different sides, for example by Kun

with the "Theory of scientific discovery" (I know only Russian translation,

so it may be different in English).

Could you specify who came up "with scientifis evidences of the positive

impact of sex"?
