WHY DO DEMONS ATTACK?

Dear Maharaj et all,

Obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

"Old timers"--that's us--our bodies are getting old--remember the attack by

demoniac bikers on New Vrindavan and Kirtanananda. We were all disturbed. I

never bothered Srila Prabhupada by writing letters unnecessarily, but when I

sent initiation referrals as a temple president (in this case, St. Luis.

U.S.A.)--Madhava Maharaja, you , of course remember those days clearly from the

Radha Damodar party--only then would I write to Srila Prabhupada with a

question, along with the initiation recommendations. So I asked, "Why did the

attack happen in New Vrindavan?" I was thinking that maybe there might have

been offenses in deity worship, or some other, hidden reason. Prabhupada wrote

back, "You should know (emphasis added) that in this world there are demons and

there are devotees, and sometimes the demons may attack the devotees". I was

corrected and embarrassed. There was no esoteric explanation, and I was

supposed to know the simple answer.

So let's hope that you are right--that something positive will come out of

this hellish situation in Kazakhstan.

could this be the Lords strategy as per 10.32.20 to increase the devotees

determination and loving attachment? or could it be like Prabhupada said,

Krsna takes with 10 hands and gives with 10 hands?
