KAntArdhavigrahA : Having the half body of her husband.

 

KAnta, supreme Siva.

Ka, the syllable ka, anta, the end of it, ie the syllable kha, ie

heaven, ardha, a division. The meaning is the heaven is a part of her

body. The Sruti [ChA. Up., III. 12.6], "The beings form only one

portion him, the three immortal portions are in heaven"

She has the form of Ardha-nArisvara; i.e., a form that is half Female

and half Male, showing the dual concept of Reality as the united

aspect of Siva and Sakti:

The term kAntA means people; i.e., Her devotees. Another meaning of

ardha is objective. Hence, She takes the form of Her devotees' objective.
