Air Deccan to link pilgrim town with Chennai, Hyderabad

Air Deccan, the country's first low cost carrier, today announced

that it would soon launch daily flights from Chennai and Hyderabad to

the pilgrim town of Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh.

A 48-seater ATR 42-500 would be deployed on this sector, a Air Deccan

release here said.

''Puttaparthi sees a lot of travellers from India and abroad seeking

the blessings of Shri Sathya Sai Baba and the demand is high to

connect the town to various metros. We will begin with Chennai and

Hyderabad and later connect it to other metros,'' the release said

quoting Air Deccan CEO and Managing Director Capt Gopinath.
