KArya, the categories, mahat, etc,. KArana, MUlaprakrti. Because in

the caitanya [brahman] these things do not exist. The Sruti says, "He

has neither cause nor effect"

She is beyond both cause and effect; She is free from the causal law.

 

kArya means the Universe of name and form; kArana is avyakta.

 

"na tasya kAryam kAranam ca vidyate: The cause and the effect are

unknown there because She is beyond both." (Svetasvataropanisad 6.6)
