Guest guest
Thank you Mahaprabhu Caitanya Congratulation on your idea to innovate a conference to help devotees find full time or part time paid jobs. I also think it is important to establish a forum in which we can help each other with maintenance beyond and above our services, preaching and sadhana. Majority of devotees in Iskcon are householders and often time, making a living is not that obvious. I would like to give my own example here: My name is Radhacaran das (tkg). I have done full time service and preaching from 1977 til 1998. During that time I lived on very basic remuneration from collection or paid work in our Iskcon restaurants. In 1999 I started my own business with one of my godsisters in Hong Kong. She, in turn, had been a import export business person for 25 years. So we combined both our experiences and created Velina Designs, which I am sure many devotees know about now. We design, manufacture and market a very large range of high quality murtis in China. It is our 4th year and it is expending each year. We feel very fortunate to be involved in this business because it engages hundreds of Chinese in making murtis and it helps spreading Vedic culture all over the world. In light of the purpose of this conference, I would like to inform the reader that Velina Designs needs experienced people who would like to take up the distribution of our products in Europe, USA, South East Asia, India, Africa and many other countries. Our product is not only in regular and popular demand among the Indians but it is gradually opening to the western world as inspirational gift items for yoga and meditation. If anyone would like to come forward with suggestions I will be happy to discuss possibilities for a position. I am also opened to discussion on working with devotees as opposed to serving with devotees, and understanding devotional service in light of Prabhupada's idea on engaging devotees, preaching and practicalities of life. ys Radhacaran das Manager of Velina Designs www.velinadesigns.com
