Not all of it, but some. Spices and essential oils are very expensive and

thus are often mixed with cheaper substances to make better profits.

 

Turmeric is indeed often mixed with flower and artificial colors such as

poisonous Tartrazin to make up for the loss of color created by the (very

fine) flour. You will not be able to see the flour in the mixture.

 

If I want to be sure to get unadulterated Turmeric I buy it at the pharmacy.

Ps.: It is also interesting to know that most spices are treated with gamma

rays (from radioactive Cobalt 60 reactors).
