Guest guest
Dear Mrkanda, Hare Krsna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. One recipe for you for salad dressing which draws a lot of oohs and aahs from our Sunday feast guests here in Eugene, and these are died in the wool very discerning vegetarians, this part of Oregon being Old hippie land.. there is no set measures..you can give and take as you like Eugene Special Olive oil Fresh squeezed lemon juice pinch salt pinch pepper pinch brown sugar tomato puree coconut (dessicated) fresh dill weed..add quite a bit little turmeric whisk and allow to soak and blend for 10 minutes ****************** Avocado Dressing 1 avocado 1 cup yoghurt 2 tblsp lemon juice half cup oil 1 teasp salt 2 teasp brown sugar half teasp hing quarter cup dry roasted sesame seeds blend ************** Another nice dressing is a simple chaunce of mustard seeds, hing, little chili, ginger and turmeric, added to the salad oil ************** A very nutritious, tasty, and cheap breakfast is a fruit salad. It on average works out at $1 per person, medium helping. This is my San Francisco Special from where all the good fruits come from sliced bananas grated apples grapes oranges, peaches, pears etc some sunflower seeds some nuts figs soaked previously 10 minutes/or dates/or both raisins also pre soaked handful some cold cooked rice or soaked oatmeal grains squeeze some oranges into blender, add one banana and vanilla essence and blend, then add this to a generous helping of honey yoghurt and mix.then add your fruit and other ingredients. add cinnamon should you wish if you let this stand 15 or 20 minutes...the very very best thats it and good enough for God. ************** There is a wealth of energy to be got from sprouts and an easier way than using glass jars is available...a little expensive ($25) but worth it,as you water only every 2 or 3 days.It is a self contained glasshouse practically. It is a BIOSTA Sprouting kit and it can be ordered from any good health store. Its a three tiered round plastiglas system and I cannot recommend it highly enough.I got mine at a Down to Earth store, dont know if you got em there.Dont go for cheaper plastic trays. This is definitely the best and Ive been growing sprouts for years, If you cant get it where you are I will gladly organise it from here for you Let me know.I am at your service. Plus many, many, great recipes....can be had in Rambhoru devi dasis cookbook FOOD FOR PEACE..super simple vegetarian cooking for everyone.. all the hippies have a copy over here..its such a hit That you can get of us here for $12 plus postage Write to us at Krishnas Temple 426 East 12th Ave Eugene OR 97401 Tel 541 345 9053 Look after your health, Your servant, Jaya Jagannatha das.
