Guest guest
You cannot see if someone is surrendering to Krsna heart and soul just because he seems to be doing that externally. I have seen many devotees look really surrendered for some time and then leave. Others seemed to be insincere or motivated, yet they remain and become more and more purified. The heart is something that can be touched by the spiritual master and Krsna, but to maintain this is something quite difficult. Those who maintain and increase their love and devotion throughout their devotional lives are generally those in the mode of goodness (for they are maintaining this essential element in devotional service) and those who have developed knowledge and appreciation of the knowledge as well as taste for the knowledge that comes in our books. It is also a fact that someone who has advanced in previous lives comes to the higher platforms of Krsna consciousness quicker than those who are just starting. This can be the cause of the inequity amongst different devotees. It is also a fact that someone may have suffered so much in the material world that they have a burning need deep within them to get out of the material world and surrender to Krsna feelingly. Please remember that Queen Kunti said that those who are burdened by good birth, bodily beauty, wealth or learning, have a harder time to surrender to Krsna completely. One can speak a lot on this subject, but I do not have time to answer this at present completely. Maybe some other reader of this text might have something to add on this?
