Guest guest
Just like a gardener, when he sees weeds in his garden uproots them with his hands and tools, so similarly the devotee who is watching over his tender creeper of devotion should immediately uproot the nasty weeds grown from material desires as soon as he sees them sprouting. This means that we have to carefully uproot the weeds. The process of hearing SB and chanting Hare Krsna will give us all the strength required to uproot the weeds and will remove most of the weeds as well, but it is our responsibility to actually do the work to remove the remaining weeds with our own efforts. If we see that we are not acting properly, then we should change the way we act. If we see that we have made mistakes in relation to others then we should correct this by asking for forgiveness and not doing the same mistakes again. We should be vigilant and watch out for our bad qualities surfacing so that we can always be a serene and peaceful Vaisnava full of good qualities. Careful and vigilant self-criticism is essential in spiritual life.
