If you can do things which are also very harmonious with nature, then things go easier. For example, we eat foods which are good for us, for foods which are not tend to ruin the body. Vastu is Ayurveda for buildings. There is nothing wrong with it. It is a tool to make things better. It is part of our culture. Prabhupada did not get involved in many of these things because he knew that we would not be able to handle it all, and further, it would have distracted us from our real duty. But if you can be fixed in your real duty of devotional service and still take help from the more material side of the sastras, then you can do things better, or rather, easier. And if you can do everything you have to by simply hearing and chanting, then please do so.
