Guest guest
The other day, Siddhayogini dd asked me in class what the word 'Srivatsa' refers to. I replied that it is the footprint of Bhrgu Muni on the chest of Lord Visnu. I mistakenly said that 'vatsa' refers to footprint, but actually this is not so, so that has to be corrected. I wondered about this point, since I also knew that srivatsa refered to the small curl of hair on the chest of the Lord as well. So I became doubtful of which is true. I asked Ekanath das to look it up in a dictionary I gave him and found out that there are actually five different meanings of the word srivatsa, one of which is the curl of hair and another of which is the footprint of Bhrgu Muni. So both were right! Since the text that Ekanath das wrote me was so interesting, I thought I would put it in this conference so all could share the different meanings of srivatsa. I will include that text next. And thanks again go to Ekanath das who is finding out many interesting things in his research and readings.
