Heart mind and conciousness

Mind is a subtle thing which is throughout the body but seemingly located

in the head due to the fact that the brain is the interface between the

mind and the body.

 

Consciousness is also situated in the heart but it is the symptom of the

soul. The heart is the seat of consciousness, the place where it is

actively aware.

The subtle body wraps itself around the soul and the soul adopts it as its

own body out of its desire to enjoy. Thus the consciousness of the soul

pervades the subtle body. The subtle body is a form which resembles the

gross body but it is made of subtle elements. Therefore we cannot speak of

where the false ego lies.

 

The brain is merely an instrument, an organ of action, which is the

interface between the gross and subtle bodies. Because we are generally

aware of thinking taking place on the level wherein it connects to the

brain we think that we think with the brain. Actually it is beyond the

brain. But because it connects with the body through the brain, we are

fooled and think it is the brain.
