This must have happened after > Vivekananda, so how did it become so widespread in India again? > He did not drive mayavadis out of India, but his preaching was so organized that their influence became minimal and people understood that their philosophy was not proper. However, after his demise, his preaching mission was dismantled by his leading followers who did not follow his instructions to organize a GBC and therefore everything fell apart and there was no concerted preaching effort. Taking advantage of the weakness of the Gaudiya vaisnavas, the mayavadis gained in strength and practically unopposed they started to pollute the minds of the people. Therefore it is essential that we always keep the preaching mission united under the banner of Srila Prabhupada's instructions and the leadership of the GBC so that we can keep on preaching and gradually diminish the influence of mayavadi philosophy. > Your servant, > Ramesvara Dasa.
