He causes this energy to surround Him and create the situation where His pastimes take place. He then immerses Himself in these pastimes as the Supreme Enjoyer, and not as the all-knowing Godhead. He assumes that role because it is the way He can maximize His enjoyment. And since He is all powerful, He does not have the slightest difficulty to accept any role, or any situation according to His desire to enjoy. Thus, if He wishes to be in a situation where He may be surprised, then He can certainly arrange that for His pleasure and the pleasure of His devotees.
