THE FAITHFUL FLOCK

There were three little birds in a wood

Who always sang hymns when they could

What the words were about

They could never make out

But they felt it was doing them some good.

THE FLYING FRIAR

A fat friar who lived in Dundalk

Proclaimed he could fly like a hawk

Cheered by all the townspeople

He jumped from the steeple

But the splashdown proved it just talk.

THE BACKBITER

A Bishop residing in Meath

Sat down on his set of false teeth

Said he with a start

"O Lord, bless my heart

I'm bitten myself underneath."
