Guest guest
Reuters 06-SEP-97 BOGOTA, Sept 5 (Reuter) - A rat caused a short circuit on Friday at the airport in Colombia's Caribbean port of Barranquilla that forced it to shut down for nearly an hour. Civil Aviation officials said the rat triggered the short circuit by urinating on a high-power cable. This knocked out communications between the control tower and incoming aircraft, forcing the Ernesto Cortissoz airport to suspend operations. Civil Aviation director Ramon Emiliani said airport operations were restored after about 40 minutes. ``The rat was quite frazzled,'' Emiliani told local radio.
