Dear Prabhus,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Using: WinCOM 42b, WinXP

If I set 'Options->Fonts->West European, variable pitch' to, for example,

'Balarama' or 'ScaGoudy,' fonts included with the Folio Vedabase, then copy

some text including diacritic markings from the Vedabase into a new message,

the diacriticised characters do not display properly. However, if I paste

the same text into MS-Word, highlight it and select the same font, it

displays the diacritics correctly.

One anomaly is that if I then highlight the text I pasted into WinCOM, copy

it and paste it into MS-Word, then display it in the same font, it displays

the diacriticised characters in the same fashion as WinCOM, ie. incorrectly.

It seems that the only fonts I can use to display things properly in WinCOM

are the WinCOM v1, v2 and v5 fonts (or f1, f2 and f5 if you're using fixed

character pitch.)

Your servant,

Vraja Kumara das
