This never happened to me. Do "File"/"Repair the filing cabinet". Maybe that

helps.

Texts expire after 3 months and are removed from COM's database. So in

WinCOM click "Settings" and change the kind to "New Text".

I cannot reproduce it. What was the whole contents of the line in the

header?

Yes, do to a bug in ADDRBOOK.EXE there was garbage in the file, which WinCOM

removed.

Press Ctrl-V in the address book before clicking "Add".

That hat not changed except that you have to press Enter instead of Ctrl-C.
