Do laptops work in the car on a car's battery?

I wanted to know if laptops can get power from the car's battery while

working on them in a car? What is required for that? Or any other options

available? And also if someone knows whether this is possible for Indian

cars? I am sorry if this is the wrong conference for this question. Kindly

direct me to the right place if required to get this question answered.
