Guest guest
> So whenever the key is lost it has to be quickly and simply regenerated > just prompting user for a password he would be able to *always remember* What is the different between a user who lost the key and a hacker? Both can generate a new key, the user remembers the password and the hacker hacks it.
Guest guest
>Also the whole WinCOM configuration can be stored on a floppy disk so the >user could take it with him when travels and use any other copy of WinCOM >with his personal settings on the floppy disk. When you travel to Mayapur never count on floppy disks. They never work (humidity and dust). Also if one uses telnet login with compuserve or vsnl then (the nature of the script is such) that there is no place for choosing what data you want to send. In plain terms it means that SAP will be impossible to apply to the devotees who are using Wincom with telnet script and ones who use telix, procomm etc., with datapack connection. Also when com is busy or your connection is not very fast it often so slow that you will not be able to login. Too many negotiations to log in. It will also be more expensive to get on com, especially for ones who travel in India, south america, russia, middle east and other places where tcp/ip is not a good (cheap) option. In the end the number of phonecalls to Ramakantha will increase not lessen. Why don't one remember ones passwords and just change them regularly. I don't think that military security will make someone happy (you need budget and quite some qualification to fix it if something goes wrong). Even if one does all the things you suggested with the floppy - floppy itself is a serious leak... ys CCd
