Help:Send commnds to COM from my local e-mail account !

I have forwarded my com mails to my local e-mail account and logon to COM

using wincom once in a month or so to download some files from conferences.

 

I have few questions:

 

There used to be a facility called UPDUMP or something similar with which

I used to send commands etc,. to COM from my local e-mail account and it

used to work some time and most of the time it failed.

 

Is that facility or any other better facility (for sending messages to

conferences or sending commands)is there for people like me who have

forwarded all mail to local ISP e-mail account and would not be using

WINCOM to download messages?

 

Is there a way to download a file from conference without using WINCOM?
