Just press ENTER or click OK. If you exit WinCOM / MacCOM then you will have to enter the password again. - - - - - - - - - - - - In one of the previous texts Ramakanta prabhu wrote why is it like this now, that passwords have to be entered every time (Text: 2168503) > I still use wincom 30a and am glad I didn't "upgrade." I do not like being > forced to enter a password every time I use wincom on my own computer. In the past there were some shocking cases where some young kids went into COM and were looking into all the conferences. To avoid this in the future the authorities of COM have decided that every COM user must enter his password every time when he logs in. COM is even prepared also the request WinCOM 30 users to enter their password. The SysOp simply has to enable it. Please consider that COM is not like a karmi BBS. COM has confidential conferences with sensitive information not meant for others. And under no circumstances an unauthorized person should have access to these conferences. You may say that only you have access to your computer. Ok, but how should WinCOM and COM know that? Therefore WinCOM (and soon COM) asks for your password every time you log in. If you don't like to enter the password each time, then don't use WinCOM, but use another mail reader to send and receive messages through the Internet. - - - - - - - - - - - There is another reason why it is like this now. Because COM users very often forgot their password or they changed it by mistake and if something went wrong with their computers, meaning that software had to be reinstalled they could no longer login to COM and as a consequence Raktambhar prabhu and mataji Mukhya got a lot of mail about forgoten or unknown COM passwords. In this way everybody is forced to remember their password. - - - - - - - - - - - I hope this helps to get things cleared up.
