Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. On Monday mornings we playe a Srila Prabhupada lecture on CD whilst all the devotees sit around his vyasasana at the back of the Temple Room. We supply each devotee a printed copy of the lecture from Vedabase so everyone can easily follow what is being said. Engaging like this, we must be at the cutting edge of ISKCON technology! However, it has highlighted the following points: • We like to have Srila Prabhupada chant 'Jaya Radha-Madhava' before class. Unfortunately this is only on a few CDs (particularly No's 16 & 17). All the latest CDs have 'Govinda' from the 'Radha-Krishna Temple Album' before every lecture. Therefore we have to play 'Jaya Ra...' from one CD then swap to another CD, skip over the Govinda song (which isn't a Prabhupada standard to have before a class), then play the lecture. Also the Prema-dvani should be there. • The devotee (usually Pradyumna Prabhu) chanting the verse at the start of the lecture is always edited off the CD. It was an institution to hear this and is strange not to have it. • Bits of the lecture are often edited off the CD; Prabhupada asides, comments/questions by devotees etc. Oftentimes there are things on the Folio lecture that are not on the CD, sometimes things on the CD not on the Folio. Perhaps the editors are going a bit too far. Please forgive any offences committed in bringing these matters to light.
